putting the suggestion that this be updated here is probably sufficient, but your next best option would be a contact form.
Forums are not really a good place to ask for free materials. If needed at all, you should ask locally in game for assistance; assuming you haven’t managed to anger an entire server there are likely a few people that would help you get back on your feet with some basics (like an axe or pick) so you can get yourself some materials to rebuild.
If I found paisley Jean’s I’d definitely buy them
No free stuff ;P ‘sides I’ve no books on London
wow…
First: get 10 wood by beating on a tree with your fist by standing in front of it and hitting the action button
Second: get 20 stone by beating on a rock with your fist by standing in front of it and hitting the action button
Third: open your crafting menu – it looks like a repair kit – find the Stone Axe option and click the craft button
Fourth: wield the axe
Fifth: find more trees and beat on them with the axe.
Repeat step 5 until you have enough wood to make walls. If you find pinecones, you can use those to make more trees, or sell them for some wood.If you want help with something find me in discord. Do not clutter up forums.
if someone else makes your base, then someone else can break into your base whenever they’d like. At best, you could ask for a loan of resources to build a house, but, generally my response to people asking for mats is to ask them if they’d like a free bone axe, or a free bone pick. A minimum amount of effort on your part will get you what you need in this game. If you’re going to build in galebrook you should make friends first, otherwise i’d suggest starting out in wellington. and use floor tiles
You are warned in the guide to use tiles for this exact reason. If you did not read the guide (or ask for advice) before you built a house thats a learning experience for you. This game is full of those, and most of the fun is in figuring out how everything works. There is no guide that gives tips on how to terrorize noobs, nor should there be because it’s a jerk thing to do and causes people to quit. But it’s not a rule violation to prey on the uneducated; read the guide, read the wiki, pick up the pieces and move on.
To be clear I do feel bad that you got raided and I wish people would give new folks a chance. But it’s a matter of who you talk to or who notices you making a mistake. I’m the kind of person who would warn you if I’d seen you build that. That other guy is the kind of person who would rob you. Its that kind of game though, be really careful what/how you build and where you build it.
Build a good base with towers, be a gentleman, and make friends. Pvp and getting raided happen to most people at some point, you just kind of have to roll with the punches
If you do not place floor tiles down under your items they despawn, other floor tiles will pop out, and people can get in. If your base is in galebrook they can rope in. Build a proper base with walls and floor tiles to avoid this, read guides and wiki to understand the mechanics better, and ask questions
a new server came out a couple months ago and personally i’m not sure we really need another one, there’s plenty of space and opportunity on the ones that already exist
imho wellington is for trolls, farmers, and storage. Trolls only thrive if you feed them or die near them, yeah, they’re irritating, and yeah its frustrating that you can’t do much against them, but seriously there’s not much you can do about *most* people that raid you unless you happen to have a more active group of overpowered friends that care as much about it as you do. If I burned down someone’s galebrook shack are they seriously going to cut through 3-4 layers of double walls and towers to get their stuff back?
Storage gets expensive to maintain but its doable. As to the farmers, we have an entire group of farmers living it up in wellington. I assume if they get tired of hunting wellington monsters they go to wolf cave, and the underground is pretty unpopulated most of the time and thus relatively safe. I honestly think that someone could enjoy playing this game without ever speaking in gc or interacting with anything in galebrook for more than a few seconds at a time to get to UW. In any case – these people play, they probably buy diamonds, and they boost the overall game economy. While making a PVE-only server is a solution to this, I don’t want to remove these people from the game just to spare us from having to try a bit harder to not feed the trolls. /ignore is your friend
we have the same glitched tile in the same exact spot on texas as well
I would love some sort of team system (be it between tribes or members), it certainly beats having to temporarily invite folks so you don’t accidentally kill them. I agree with the point against the tribe war though, there’d be nothing to stop someone from starting their own tribe of themselves and declaring war on another tribe just to kill someone.
As far as the farm goes, if you tell a pet to stay in an outdoor area it will attack anything that attacks it. It may not survive the encounter if its a low level, but a maxed out dog can wreck just about anything (I did lose one of mine to a chaos, no idea how big it was though)
for home defense they’re not really great for home protection unless the person broke your wall down to get in there and has latent infamy for a bit, it wouldn’t be hard to avoid getting attacked here though if they just run the infamy off.
while I hate i’m risking my pets when I leave the base and feel that there should be some penalty for attacking them, I see making that penalty be infamy just causing another set of ways to “infamy bait” someone. If there was a way to make you not get infamy for attacking someone who attacks your pet that would be optimal but that seems terribly convoluted and possibly not programmable. For now i’m just going to keep backup pets and train them in areas with less risk.
