So I’m just wondering if this is normal… I was working my steel targe at the glowing altar and an iron dagger consumed it :/
The dagger wasn’t named whereas the Targe was.
I thought the named item would always be dominant; Is it normal that a named item would get consumed by a no-name item?
First time this happens to me and it’s very unfortunate it had to be with a targe.
    Any one with similar experience?

It probably was named but you didn’t notice. Also karma.

No the dagger isn’t named. I still have it in fact and can see that.

Should’ve sold it to me 😉 but are you sure the dagger wasn’t named “Iron dagger*” or something of the sort? As in did you craft it yourself? Or did you get it from someone else that could’ve possibly named it. A galtar has never ate a named item vs an unnamed for me but I have encountered things people have named the exact thing the item should be named.

If the dagger was gemmed, it will take priority liked a named one would. If both items are gemmed/named, the item placed first has priority. So my guess is that if the dagger wasn’t named, it was placed first and has gems on it (or were added then removed)

    In my experience with g-altars:
Regardless of custom naming conventions, the item with the lower required level to wear/wield will always be sacrificed to the one with the higher level requirement.

In addition, the closer the level requirements of the items are to eachother, the more likely the transfer/boost rate is.
