Patch: It’s Hammer Time

bronze_hammerAs many of you are painfully aware, the decay rate was higher than normal recently. This wasn’t just to discourage big bases but was a temporary correction to the almost non-existent decay that occurred before that (a bug with the expansion). Some resources need liberating and some clutter needed cleaning up.. but now finally the decay has been cut to less than half of what it has been. Some new mechanics are needed to maintain balance for the ability to siege, break in, liberate resources, and clean up abandoned bases as a result.

First of all, something nice for the newbies and house builders. Hammers no longer do splash damage to players if targeting a structure. No more dying through walls.

All hammers now come with a destruction bonus built in. It increases with the type of the hammer. The new item, Bronze Hammer, has the most destruction – but it requires a good amount of bronze and even some gems so not any new player can get their hands on one right away. New sound effect for destroying structures, even from decay.

Decay is only 3% now (subject to change up or down as always), but there is a new decay mechanic for clutter and abandoned bases which is a problem with low decay rates. Now when there are breakable structures with less than 2 adjacent breakable structures the decay rate is much stronger. This will clean up old barricades and bases with holes in them.

Other than the above just some behind the curtain fixes mostly, a couple sprite updates which will propagate soon, and replaced one of the female hairstyles for more variety. More fun stuff to come soon as usual. Thanks for testing, keep up the reports, and stay safe out there 🙂
