A Whole New World

The overworld has more than doubled in size, and the underworld is 3 times as deep. Also, we are now officially on a dedicated server! I hope to make up the costs with future supporters, but it’s so nice to not have lag with lots of players on. More optimizations are coming still, so we may have a very busy world eventually. Here’s what else is new:

  • Adjusted decay again for new overworld. Will probably be slightly less.
  • Decay for underground is half of what it is for overworld.
  • Population caps have increased for plants and animals.
  • Underground dirt may occasionally open on it’s own.
  • Equipment bonuses from crafting now go on base stats, not bonus.
  • New craftable item: Escape Rope – go up one level if not blocked or a floor tile.
  • Underworld level after underground is giant but not mazy. Has holes to fall in.
  • Stairs are now walked on to go up and down. NPCs can use them as well.
  • 2 new high level underworld NPCs to fight. The most unpleasant yet.
  • When whispering a sleeping person you will get a notice.
  • Club damage increased by 1 and cooldown decreased 100ms.
  • Fixed some issues with napping critters.

There was a lot I wanted to add that didn’t make it into this patch, so prepare for crazy stuff coming as usual.
