try using whirlwind on 4 quill beast with a same def heavy and light armor and let me know if they are the same XD
Even if they have same def value, heavy has a hidden damage mitigation that REALLY makes it a go to for uwMace armor pen is applied only on melee hits, not on spells (major damage)
In uw i use axe(max damage weapon) since most of my damage (and conseguent survival) comes from spells, i melee hit to finish off or when a room is not too crowded (and dangerous)when u’ll meet dopplers with inti IV and fbV in deep uw, u will want them to be nerfed 😀 plus they boost up nightmares and heal whole rooms with high level HR.
they are good like they are 😛good luck in using them, considering the level requirements 😛
fire spirits are the only mob that really bothers me when diving, now 😛
btw, u can break a wall to get out (this is where high mining becomes useful even for pve)
dont rush in narrow pathways, prepare the “land” where u fight, like when approaching a unspawned floor, while mobs spawn, start creating safe exits destroying wallsi lolled.

i have to admit i was happy about this update (hell yeah i can get my perfect set, finally!) but i found myself losing a bit of interest in the game.. chest hunting was my biggest fun, now i totally have NO point in going uw 250+.. i can just grind uw 80 (which gives better gear to melt at altars, since to get OP gear melting a S5 is better than a S5G1 for example, couse its way easier to boost an existent item managing a single rune at a time).
I upgraded steel stuff with grass bands and cloth stuff… lvl req is just useless XD
with 5-6 s5 cloth items i can get a plain steel plate to s5.
I removed ALL good gear from my shop (probly the shop with best gear in EU server) leaving only ancients to melt it at altars. Good luck getting items to newcomers, now that i have no more point in selling it 😀
Only suggestion i have is.. grow stronger and start grinding your gear in uw, stop relying on ppl selling it, couse ppl selling good spare gear will also have the gold to melt them at altars.to carners.. u can have a5 steel targes VERY easily now, which is a HUGE item for carns 😀
can be easily soloed both melee or ranged 😉
and little hint: go noshield, the damage taken its only from poison, same damage if u are melee or ranged! SM has no really physical hit, just the poison spit.

The real problem are the other spells bugging and not working when u forget one 😛
