Myst is very important for the game is it not? It is the essentials for upgrades and everyone needs it. My suggestion is to create an object or system in order to trade Myst for other resources.
It is just a suggestion but it’s an interesting idea. With this system there would be an even more communicative community. Since hunters usually stick to hunting and eventually have infinite Myst to spare but little time to gather resources like stone and wood. While the gathers that need main in mining and chopping need Myst but have an abundance of stone and wood(of course this will be the same case with other specialist). What the new object for trading Myst or system would do is create a closer community that need each other and benefit off each other more than it already is. It’s a neat idea that a lot of people on the game will support.March 12, 2018 at 12:16 pm #5947Definitely interesting idea – shameless plug here but I suggested converting myst via an alchemy skill somewhere else – but being able to trade directly would be a great boon for those who aren’t in the game to fight.
This does however then mean that some players will become tertiary when it comes to gameplay.
No real downside from a meta perspective that I can think of at first instance, but it does hurt the game’s risk factor I feel – which I’m guessing is a large part of the plus for most people.
March 13, 2018 at 2:22 pm #5983Yea, you make a lot of good points. but as a miner mostly it does stink having to take time out of what I specialize in to upgrade myself. Rather just do mining and benefit others at the same time.
March 13, 2018 at 4:09 pm #5986Fluff I’ve seen is that myst is the soul / essence of creatures.
Having an item or ability that siphoned off some of it to sell or trade could be interesting, but then Lasting Legacy could become moot and would need a rework.
If only a tiny fraction was taken from the kill then Legacy would still have a purpose. Seeing it have a greater return would help encourage more reincarnation though.
Too lazy to do any specific math this late but a rough guess would be 0.025% per level of skill or 0.5% per item proc level would give a max of 2.5% or 2% myst. Maybe as a rune 0.4% for a 2% return as well.
Which may seem low, especially if math ceiling is used, but considering how many kills you make in the UW I’d argue is at an imbalanced level anyway.
But for basic comparison of system tweaks it’ll do.
So gathering myst in that way for sale means it could be stored and render Legacy largely pointless. Altering it to return with interest at higher tiers – say 12 levels of 10% for simplicity – and there would be a real reward for paying a high price per level up – 1+2(n+n)*(current%+500)*10 say.
So 0 to 1 would be 5000, 1 to 2 would be 25,500, 2 to 3 would be 46,800 and so on, up to 11 to 12 costing 274,500. Which again seems far too easy, even cumulatively taking into account the myst totals.Perhaps rather than siphoning from kills an item that increases hunger consumption but gathers myst for every step and / or experience gaining action you perform – excluding anything triggered by an autostrike. It wouldn’t function when you had no hunger, you couldn’t AFK it without a bot and you’d need to be actively doing a task.
Make it so only one of the item can be equipped – perhaps a body suit with negative / nullifying combat effects to negate it being worn to increase myst from monsters.
March 14, 2018 at 2:39 am #5994that all makes a lot of sense. Maybe just a new system where you can get a small percentage of Myst from just doing other things like mining.
March 14, 2018 at 5:09 am #5995If you could transfer myst to others, what people could do is make a myst mule and myst farm on an ascender which funds their reincarnator.
The only way this is good is if the myst cannot be gained by other players.
March 14, 2018 at 7:40 am #6010On review with a less fatigued mind I strongly advocate my item idea as the best solution and it’d be an easy implementation.
Need to consume hunger and be gaining experience to generate a small amount of myst. Automatic actions are not counted.
Whether or not it’s a percentage of experience gained is converted or causes myst to be generated, or a tally system where you get myst rewarded for hitting set points is up for debate. A lower experience gain from your actions and a slow build to set rewards seems the most consistent.33% penalty to experience gains with 5% of the original experience becoming myst perhaps?
Not ran the numbers but 100xp would return 66xp instead and 5 myst.
I’d need to look up the level requirements for the myst upgrades and experience boundaries of skills to get something practical but the system functioning this way definitely has merit.
March 15, 2018 at 4:47 am #6048why not have a place to be able to donate items for Myst. Like i got 500 repair kits but I can make them into Myst or i’m flowing with stone and hem but i do not need it. I can donate to a shrine for Myst. Sense Myst is like spirit energy or something lol. To be honest this could get rid of a lot items in the game that are just randomly stored making trading more useful.
March 15, 2018 at 11:05 am #6050I like the donation idea, it’s parallel to the item suggestion but goes a bit further by removing the product of the experience.
Which as you say can be beneficial. Spamming item creation for myst and experience with no downside?
March 18, 2018 at 6:25 pm #6143If there was a way of quickly getting loads of myst or trading myst to another player, I would make an alt, give it 5m myst, and run around killing everyone with it and avoiding infamy.
I might also make a reinc account and easily power through 100 reincs because I NEVER have to myst farm on the account. I could just do all the farming on my high lv ascension accou t until the reincer becomes OP.
This just seems too easily exploitable.
March 19, 2018 at 6:04 pm #6152I dont like this idea. I would never trade any of my myst tho and neither would any hardcore combat players.
March 20, 2018 at 9:27 am #6179I seen something in another game called a Exp Orb, and when equipped what it did was take a portion of the exp you earned and add it to the orb, the orb had a limit, but once met it could be passed on to other characters to use, or trade. The purpose of it was to let people skip the low level content thats boring. Once your past a certan level, it’d no longer work. This was from a more grind heavy game thats simmlar to Mystera, as its also a very grind heavy game.
March 20, 2018 at 11:36 pm #6190Myst farming is the only thing that forces active play in Mystera, if you take that away then there’s nothing seperating the serial base sitters and botters from people who play actively.
