All you need for roads is a crafter or just add some kind of road tax place. honestly just mine for a while you can easily replace anything a noob is able to dig up undiscovered. also you cant place buildings on road and gravel tiles are insanely cheap i have 12k flint myself and stone roads are great crafting exp
its more so i know whether its on or off, an off tower is pointless for defense. there has been a few times where ive checked and a tower was actually off while others were on
