Hello. I got curious in floor tiles and I wanted to know more information about so I thought of posting the questions here.
1. Which of the different floor kits have the best quality or durability?
2. Are floor kits durability affected by walls?
(Ex: Wood Floors are more durable near Wood Walls and can decay faster near Stone Walls)3. Are floor kits durability affected by other floor tiles?
(Ex: Wood Floors can decay faster if there is a ground and grass tile nearby)4. Items won’t disappear only if on Wood Floor tile, Stone Floor tile, and Clay Floor tile, right? How long does it take for the item to disappear?
5. Is it true that the fert egg should be on a grass floor tile in order to hatch it?
June 14, 2018 at 8:32 am #8188I’ll try to answer to the best of my knowledge, hoping that others will chime in and correct, should I confuse a detail.
1. I personally always thought that stone having longer durability than wood is a general rule that you could count on but recently heard that this is supposed to be not exactly the case and applying only to stone and wood walls durability. Floor tiles apparently have same durability (according to chat rumour! got no real source for this)
2. afaik no
3. afaik yes, nature tiles of all kind nearby floor tiles speed up their deterioration, they eventually despawn. grass, water, street tiles are all nature tiles
4. correct. items on nature tiles as such despawn pretty fast. so if you have items on a floor tile that touches a nature tile, it can be gone when you log in after a break, yes. because then first your floor tile despawns and then the items you left are on grass so they are then gone pretty fast, too.
However, if your character has been killed somewhere and drops their loot pile on a nature tile, it will still wait there for an hour until you pick it up in case it has not been looted by a “finders keepers” or the killer-robber.
If in a character kill case someone helps you and picks your loot up, they should give it to you directly because a picked and then dropped again loot will have same fast despawn time as all other items on nature tiles.5. afaik yes and hope to be able to confirm that very soon. (farms being built right now)
June 14, 2018 at 10:20 am #8192to confirm/add to this:
I have *heard* (but not tested) that the movement speed is higher on stone than it is on wood, and that wood has a higher movement than clay. It would be easy to test it just hasn’t mattered much to me cuz stone is expensive so I haven’t bothered with it.
I expect that stone tiles are harder to dig out than wood/clay as well.
floor tiles do not decay if they’re enclosed within a structure, such as a wall or animal gates (or probably towers or doors, as well). floor tiles will only spontaneously disappear if they’re touching water, road, grass, or dirt (aka nature tiles).
While on this topic – if you ever open market stall make sure you put a tile under the stall as well. If you don’t the payment will despawn.
Fertilized eggs need to be on grass. Also chickens will only drop items on grass.
