@IMPK
All sandbox games are inherently moral because they revolve around player choice. That’s what makes the game compelling. There are already penalties for being a “bad person” so it’s consistent to have bonuses for being a “good person.” In general I think it’s a better idea to incentivize people and promote choice than it is to punish and restrict people.@lucas100vzs
The permadeath idea would only affect toons that die over and over again in a very short period of time. I’m talking like 10-15 deaths in an hour or so. It isn’t something that you could just accidentally lag into. And if you were at your maximum deaths for that hour, you could also choose to stop coming back until the time had passed. This isn’t intended for normal toons it’s intended to stop low-level alts from influencing gameplay with no penalty. I’ve never seen a regular toon die that many times that quickly unless it was on purpose. The only time it really happens is when someone is using an alt to cheese the game.@calypso
I’m just writing some ideas to fix what I think are some problems with the way infamy and alts are handled because they can easily be abused with the way things are now.I have no idea why you are trying to make this personally about me or why you are being hostile with “this is not your game anymore.”
I have played this game for almost two years and can count the number of times I’ve killed people on one hand. I don’t know who you are and I have never done anything to you.
In fact I don’t even know what you’re talking about.
I didn’t even write anything about Wellington.
The only thing I know about you is you started a thread about walling off a “troll’s base” in Wellington and then got confused when your walls were gone and said it was dumb so if anyone is trying to abuse the serene inhabitants of Wellington it’s you.As a neutral observer I don’t see the issue.
The report system is supposed to be democratic and everyone voted to mute you.
That’s just the consequence of your behavior. You’re not allowed to completely wall off bases in Trollington. Dev has stated in the past that he will personally remove walls from there.
You can’t say dev doesn’t have a sense of humor.
I think infamy mostly just helps trolls.
He should get rid of infamy entirely and just allow every server to be classic good vs evil and let the players decide who prevails.Well it’s funny to hear you whine about toxicity Kazul considering your history of camping out in market square and murdering players who just started the game 10 minutes ago.
Something like what Mallard said would be good.
Also a few other ideas –-Make global chat inaccessible from Wellington, or give Wellington its own global chat. Trolls shouldn’t be able to spam the chat with endless trash talk b/c they know they are untouchable and no one can do anything about it.
-Reduce the Wellington skill cap a lot. If Wellington is intended to help retain new players there’s no reason for the skill cap to be as high as 80. Level 80 skills is way, way past the point of being a new player. Skill cap should be like 30 or something for Wellington.
Well, I think you are only telling one side of the story when you say that the sever is toxic and doesn’t respect new players. I do remember your big splash in global.
Anyways, my 2 cents is that having an unraidable base should come with a very steep cost. This is why Wellington was so controversial when it came out and you’re asking dev to make it even easier to build and live there.I’m curious what you consider stable enough ground to move to Galebrook. You’re almost level capped.
Have you considered moving to Galebrook?
Tribe relics aren’t “artifacts” they’re pretty common items.
There is a way for everyday people to start a tribe, it’s called getting a tribe relic.
People tend to not take you seriously because you’re constantly wanting to change the game yet you don’t even seem to have a good understanding of it.That’s a pretty cool idea.
I’m with CookieCop.
The new UI is trying to do everything at once and pulls you in two opposite directions. On one hand, you expanded our range of visibility, but on the other hand you filled up the new space with a bunch of stuff that’s in the way. Making everything transparent was the compromise I guess but the end result is just distracting, cluttered, and unattractive.
As a PC user, the giant buttons and stuff feel very unnecessary and take up tons of space.
What I’d like is an option to toggle basically everything. Action button, pick up button, hot key buttons, everything. It would look really nice without all that stuff in the way. I mostly use my keyboard for everything anyways so for me at least it’s really not needed.Lashing out to get his daddy’s attention lol
He’s killing everyone because this is probably his last chance to pvp before admin bans it completely.
The whole point of the game is to get more powerful, so you can then wield that power however you see fit. That’s supposedly the idea but Admin is slowly making it clear that it’s not really a sandbox and that he personally disapproves of certain play styles, either because it’s against his temperament or he thinks it’s hurting his wallet. Maybe some players did not wield their power responsibly, if so that should be up to the other players to solve that. Admin claims that what this game was trying to do at least in part was be a social experiment, but with the huge amount of intervention by the experimenter I think it’s only a failed experiment now.
Disallowing or heavily regulating certain kinds of player interaction deeply impairs the social dynamic of the game, and all that will be left is a huge boring grindathon with no purpose.Very well said and I agree.
