Mysteries of the Underworld Unraveled

By Nefer Akhen

Our world is a 500×200 wonderland, filled with a variety of animals and vegetation. Below the surface, however, lie many mysteries: from skeletons to bats, leeches, and so much more.

Only some have been able to reach its depth (a reported thirty leves below our surface). Robin Hood, of Merry Men, stood alone as the only one to reach this depth until recently, when members of the Frost Legion Tribe, Sir Blacula, Sephi Ness and Jopah Pino (may he rest in peace) were able to reach the same level.

After a previous article on the earthquakes that were affecting the underground, Robin was interested in sharing more information regarding the underworld to Mystera Times

Robin spends most of his time between the shop in the community market and the underworld. In fact, the underworld is the way he usually levels. You can often hear him broadcasting his affinity for the underworld and he highly recommends locals to take trips down there.

Initially, he didn’t think he could do it on his own. He had Super Nintendo as his company, who vanished from our land some time ago. “I didn’t think I could do it on my own, but I guess I just got so strong fighting skeletons after a while.”

AND, FIGHT THEM HE DID

Down in the underworld there are levels like level 25 filled with skeleton lords, Robin’s least favorite mob. But, then there are levels like level 16, which is filled with mostly
goblins.

Of course, the underworld is more than its monsters. The density of crytsals and altars increases the further down you go.

Robin complained about the lack of technology for carrying items. “I can only keep a few choice pieces of loot, and one type of gem”, Robin lamented.

The everchanging layout of the underworld also came up. If he was able to keep the coordinates, he would be able to return to the lowest level within an hour of travel. He reported that changes in the layout, caused by earthquakes, could extend this type of trip to a “6 hour adventure.” He says that the changes demotivate him, “but the rewards are too good to ignore.”

OFFENSE IS THE BEST DEFENSE

Robin states that damage “is king in the underworld”. As you go deeper into the underworld it is easy to get overwhelmed by multiple mobs. Killing them as quick as possible is the key.

He did not wish to divulge much more about the underworld saying: “I guess I cant spoil all the secrets, it might take away the adventure of exploring it for the first time!”

TIME FOR THIS REPORTER TO BE AN INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST

I wished to learn more about the underworld to share with my faithful readers. So, off I went to the underworld. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward trip to the underworld ended up being filled with dead ends and missing stairs!

Multiple stairs had gone missing from between levels. Rumors surfaced such as a small tremor affected the underground, or the stairs despawned, but no answer was found. I approached some of the local monsters about the issue.

A skeleton refused an interview…

Thankfully, a helpful goblin approached me. He was very happy to see me!

The goblin was unsure about the tremors and changes to the underworld, but he assured me that he was always happy to see new visitors. “Skellys, slimes and leeches are always going to attack you, but not us! We have your back!”

With a few less gold in my pocket (I must have dropped it somewhere…), and no others answers about the underworld, I left.

Good luck Mysteran adventurers! May your deaths in the underworld be worth it!

In an upcoming edition: follow up on the participants in the community market; learn how the Carrot God shines on his followers, and learn what the new locals are doing with our fair land!
